(NKJV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Our Vision for this organization is melded from two. However, let’s speak to the “why” first. God spoke to Trish one day and He said clearly to “Put God First” and display this in a way that you will not forget, so she wrote the letters PGF on the back of her hand. The next day the Lord spoke to Cory, Trish’s husband, and said, “Take what I have said to your wife and broadcast it….tell everyone and I will bless those who believe!” Immediately, the idea of the wristbands came to mind to spread His word, but how they were to be delivered to His sheep was still unclear.
That evening, Cory was attending a Men’s Event at his church with his leader from a group of the church called Brigade. (Brigade is an outreach to the widows, elderly and single parents of Gateway Church that assist with basic handyman needs around their homes.) After the event, Cory was introduced to the church leaders of Brigade. The topic of fundraising was brought up for the Brigade so more people could be helped and at that moment the Lord said to Cory, “That’s how.” Cory, overflowing with exuberance, explained to the Pastors what had transpired. They agreed that this would be a great idea, with one difference, the motto for the Men's Ministry is “Seek God First” …..and so it was born.
So….the seekGODfirst.org vision is this, “spread God’s word to Serve those in need.”
